The Difference Between Quantitative & Qualitative Filter Qaper
Filter paper is a good paper featured with filtration. Analytical laboratories often use filter paper as a filter medium to separate the solution and the solid. We mainly have quantitative filter paper and qualitative filter paper in supply.
Qualitative filter paper is used for qualitative chemical analysis and corresponding filtration separation. It is used to filter solutions which do not need to calculate the numerical value of the qualitative test of chloride, sulfate, etc. And the quantitative filter is used for the precision calculation of the value of the filter, such as the determination of residue and insolubility, and generally, after filtering the filter paper, it needs to be processed in a high temperature furnace.
Quantitative filter paper, in the process of manufacturing quantitative filter paper, the pulp treated with hydrochloric acid and hydrofluoric acid, and pass by distilled water, most of the paper fiber impurities were removed, so there is very little residual ash after burning, almost does not affect the result of the analysis, it’s suitable for precise quantitative analysis.
Qualitative filter paper, Qualitative filter paper generally has more ash content, only for general qualitative analysis and for filtering precipitation or solution, cannot be used for quality analysis.
The difference between quantitative filter paper and qualitative filter paper is that qualitative filter paper is used for qualitative chemical analysis and corresponding filtration separation. The quantitative filter paper is used for quantitative chemical analysis of weight method analysis test and corresponding analysis test.
