GC-FID analysis of extractable species from cellulose thimble and glass fiber thimble in Hexane/Acetone, Dichloromethane, Dichloromethane/Acetone solvent

Experiment Purpose:
The extraction thimbles are often used in environment gas collection and sample pretreatment especially in Soxhlet extraction
process, so the blank impurity level is very important in scientific test;
This experiment is to confirm that Starlab Scientific Co., Ltd extraction thimbles (Cellulose and glass fiber) have no obviously impurities by extract with
three common organic solvents used in GC sample pretreatment process and using GC-FID test.
Experiment process:
Weight and put 100 mg clipping extraction thimbles(Cellulose and glass fiber) in three common organic solvents of
Hexane/Acetone(1:1)、 Dichloromethane、 Dichloromethane/Acetone(1:1) for 24 h, and then filter 1ml extract solution for test
by GC-FID.

Experiment result:
Three common organic GC pretreatment solvent of Hexane/Acetone(11)DichloromethaneDichloromethane/Acetone(11)
are used to extract the thimbles to see if there are impurities come out from our products, as shown in figures below all GC-FID

the curve of extraction solvents show the same shape and consistent peaks with the blank solvent, implying that there is no other
species in extracted solvents.
So the Starlab Scientific Co., Ltd thimbles of cellulose and glass fiber have a very low blank level which is suitable for the use of environment gas
collection and sample pretreatment.
